Maple Oat Cereal

Due to both soy and almond allergies there is virtually no granola out there that I can buy, so I have to make my own. This time around I was going for more of a cereal to mix with yogurt than a clumpy granola. I also wanted to mix in some more whole grains and seeds for an extra nutrition punch.

 2 cups rolled oats

1 cup oat bran

¾ cup ground flaxseed

2 tbsp ground sesame seeds

½ cup chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts

1 ½ tsp cinnamon

½ cup maple syrup, or enough to coat.

Preheat oven to 325F. Combine all ingredients. Grease a baking sheet with 1 inch edge. Spread cereal out on baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes, stir. Bake 10-15 more minutes or until golden brown.
